FRESH CHICKEN MEAT

If your not happy with the frozen chickens at the local grocery store you might want to come to Iraq where freshness is guarnteed. You pick out which chicken you want then the guy kills it and bleeds it in the proper way and puts it in a plastic bag for you. Paper or pucking feathers is extra. The guy is bleeding a chicken in this picture.

MEAN WHILE BACK AT THE FARM

Time goes by as always. The sheep continue to graze as always, oblivious to everything around them. Their only concern is to find food.

SPRAY PLANE

Pictured here is one of the spray planes used to aerial spray the date palms this year. This is an AN2 Colt model plane. They are testing the spray in this shot.

LAST MINUTE INSTRUCTIONS

The spray pilot is getting last minute instructions of where to fly his plane. I just think the guy wanted his date trees sprayed first.

A FARMER'S SAND TABLE

This is a picture of the farmer showing everyone how he wants the rows layed off on the farm. Since he did not have any pen and paper he scribbled in the sand. It was clear as mud.

IRAQI BIOLOGICAL INSECT CONTROL

These guys come out at night and wage war on the thousands of mosquitoes that are in the area. I caught these guys sleeping on the job.

IRAQI GREEN HOUSES

The farmers are busy putting sheets of plastic to cover the planted seeds for vegetables crops. Once the plants emerge out of the ground they are attacked by insects and exposed to blowing sand. The plastic helps protects the plants.

IRAQI HOMEGROWN POTATOES

This was a nice row of potatoes growing in South Central Iraq.
